Background STR International Co.
Ltd was established in February 1988 as a joint venture between
the Shanghai Radio, Film and Television Bureau and Shanghai Industrial
Investment Holdings. Six months later, STR got its official headquarters
in Hong Kong . The original objective was to increase the cultural
exchange between the Shanghai region and Hong Kong , especially
in the field of Television and Radio. After a good start, the management
of STR decided to broaden the scope of business, both geographically
and in its activities. In 1995, STR International ( Europe ) BV
was established.
Objectives The main objective of
STR International Co. is to provide their audience with culturally
distinct and quality television programs and events to Hong Kong
, Shanghai and other countries. However, this is the general objective
of STR. As mentioned before, for STR International ( Europe ) BV,
the objectives are slightly different than from its mother company.
Besides its goal of establishing cultural ties between Greater China
and Europe , the other major objective is to provide the European
market with high quality sportswear and outdoor equipment. For now,
trading in these goods is STR International ( Europe ) BV's main
activity. In other words, it is mainly an international trade company.
Its main activities are concerned with marketing and selling products
that are made in China on the European market.
